Policies and Charges of Individual Ferry Operators for Carrying Pets
Brittany Ferries
- Rate is £10 from the UK to France and £20 into the UK. No foot passengers with pets
- Dogs must remain in the vehicle on the crossing to France
- Rate from UK to Spain in £20 and £10 for return to UK. Pets must be left in the vehicle. Owner will be allowed to exercise them at times specified by the Company
- Check with Brittany Ferries for availability on the Santander route. This does not take pets year-round
- Pet Passport number required at time of booking
Condor Ferries
- Rate is £20 each way
- Pets are permitted on all routes to France and must remain in the vehicle
- Foot passengers may, with the agreement of the Operator take pets, but they must be in a RSPCA approved carrier which must be left on the car deck in a designated area
DFDS
- The Newcastle - Amsterdam Route carries pets
- Pets must remain in the vehicle
Norfolkline Ferries
- Rate is £10 from the UK and £20 into the UK
- No foot passengers with pets
- Pets must remain in the vehicle
- Pet Passport number required at time of booking
P & O Ferries
- Rate is £15 each way
- Dover to Calais, dog must stay in vehicle
- Foot passengers may travel with pets in a carrier
- Hull to Zeebrugge and Amsterdam; there is a kennel deck on this ship
- Hull to Rotterdam, pets must remain in the vehicle
Seafrance
- Rate is £30 from UK, no charge back to UK
- Pets must remain in vehicle
SpeedFerries
- Rate is £15 each way
- Pets must remain in vehicle
Stena Line
- Rate to France and Holland, £10 each way
- Pets must remain in vehicle
Superfast Ferries
- Rate is £12.50 each way in a kennel
- £20 each way in a pet cabin
Transmanche Ferries
The majority of Operators allow Assistance Dogs to travel with their owner free of charge. Check when making your booking.
